BIOGRAPHY:

Professor Al-Krenawi's research interests include multicultural mental-health and social work with indigenous populations. He has conducted studies in Israel, Canada, Palestine and other Arab countries, in the last few years he is expanding his work to several African countries as well. He has completed two books the first of which, was published in Israel it deals with Arab ethno-psychiatry. My second Book entitled: Helping professional practice with indigenous people: The Bedouin-Arab Case, published by American Universities press. In addition he is a co-editor of a Multicultural Social Work in Canada: Working with Diverse Ethno-Racial Communities, published by Oxford University Press. Currently, he is working on two additional books; Islam and Social Work which will be published by Columbia University Press, and the Psychosocial impact of Political Violence on Adolescent: The Israeli –Palestinian case. Furthermore, he authored numerous book chapters and academic peer reviewed articles. Recently published works appear/are about to appear in American Journal of Orthopsychiatry, British Journal of Psychiatry, Child Abuse and Neglect, Current Opinion in Psychiatry, Family Process, The Journal of Comparative Family Studies, Social Psychiatry, as well as other professional forums.
