Erika Rummel taught History at the University of Toronto and Wilfrid Laurier University. She is a member of the American Philosophical Society, a Killam Fellow (1992/4), and a Getty Scholar (1999/2000). She is a long-time collaborator on The Collected Works of Erasmus (Toronto: U of Toronto Press, 1974-) and the director of the Capito Project (Correspondence of Wolfgang Capito,Toronto: U of T Press, 2005-; see also http://cf.itergateway.org/capito/). She is the author of several books on Humanism and the Reformation, including The Humanist-Scholastic Debate in the Renaissance and Reformation (Cambridge: Harvard U Press, 1995, repr. 1997); The Confessionalization of Humanism in Reformation Germany (New York: Oxford U Press, 2000); and Erasmus (London: Continuum, 2004).
