BIOGRAPHY:
Xiufang Chen, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Language and Literacy Education in the College of Education at Rowan University. Her research interests include literacy teacher education, reader response, online literacy instruction, and multicultural and multilingual education. She has published on The Reading Teacher, Education and Urban Society, Journal on School Educational Technology, Journal of Information Technology Education: Research (JITE:Research), International Journal of TESOL and Learning, New Waves-Educational Research and Development, American Journal of Educational Studies, and Journal on Educational Psychology. Her publications also include numerous book chapters and presentations at prestigious national and international conferences in the field of literacy education such as AERA, LRA, IRA, and NCTE. Some of her projects have been funded by the NSF, Christian R & Mary F. Lindback Foundation, Build-A-Bear Workshop Foundation, Rowan University’s Innovations in Teaching Using Technology Grant, and RU SEED Grant.
