BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. Dhanesh Mankulam is an Assistant Professor and Ph.D. Programme Coordinator at the Department of English and Cultural Studies, School of Arts and Humanities, CHRIST [Deemed-to-be University], Bangalore, India. He holds a Ph.D. in English from Kannur University, Kerala, India. His doctoral research focused on the novels and philosophies of O. V. Vijayan and Milan Kundera. The thesis attempted to extend the discourse on human existence from the 20th century schools to the contemporary field of biopolitics. His research interests span a wide range of fields touching Literary Studies, Cultural Studies, and Critical Social Theory, with a specific focus on postmodernism, biopolitics, urban narratives, literature in English from India, spatiality studies, affect studies, and postcolonial/decolonial studies. He has expertise in curriculum development and pedagogy with a degree in Bachelor of Education. He received the Hermann Hesse Foundation Endowment Fellowship during his doctoral research. He has recently translated articles on O V Vijayan from Malayalam to English for a commissioned chapter in a book project. Currently his research focuses on the intersection of affect, memory, narrative, and sociality.
