BIOGRAPHY:

Derek C. Maus is Professor of English and Communication and Interdisciplinary Studies at the State University of New York in Potsdam, where he teaches courses on contemporary literature from around the world. He is the author of several scholarly books, including Jesting in Earnest: Percival Everett and Menippean Satire (South Carolina, 2019), Understanding Colson Whitehead (Mississippi, 2014), and Unvarnishing Reality: Subversive Russian and American Cold War Satire (South Carolina, 2011). He also co-edited a collection of essays entitled Post-Soul Satire: Black Identity after Civil Rights (Mississippi, 2014) with James J. Donahue.
