BIOGRAPHY:
Margot Minardi is Professor of History and Humanities at Reed College. A scholar of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century social movements, she is the author of Making Slavery History: Abolitionism and the Politics of Memory in Massachusetts (Oxford, 2010). Her current research concerns nineteenth-century American pacifism, and her recent publications on this topic include the chapter “US Efforts to Promote Peace in the Nineteenth Century” in The Oxford Handbook of Peace History.
