Karen Livingstone is Director of Masterplan and Estate at the Science Museum Group in the UK, and a former curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (V&A) and at Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a former Trustee of the Crafts Study Centre, Farnham (2006-16), Honorary Research Fellow at the V&A (2012-2015) and a Robert. R. Wark Fellow of the Huntington Library, San Marino, California (2003). Karen was curator of International Arts and Crafts, the V&A’s major exhibition for 2005. The exhibition toured to Indianapolis Museum of Art (2005-06) and the Museum of Fine Arts, San Francisco (2006) where it was the 4th most popular decorative arts exhibition in the USA in 2006. A version of the exhibition also toured to three venues in Japan in 2008-09. The accompanying book, International Arts and Crafts (V&A, 2005), co-edited with Linda Parry, was short-listed for the AXA/Art Newspaper prize for best exhibition catalogue published in Britain, and the Berger Prize for British Art History.
