BIOGRAPHY:

Kristian Behrens is Professor of Economics at the University of Québec at Montréal (UQÀM), Canada. He has published over 50 articles in peer-reviewed international journals (including Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economics and Statistics, Economic Journal, International Economic Review, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of International Economics, and Journal of Urban Economics). His main fields of research are urban and regional economics, economic geography, monopolistic competition theory, and international trade. He has served on the editorial boards of many journals in urban and regional economics and is presently co-editor of the Journal of Urban Economics. Prof. Behrens is a Research Fellow of the CEPR, a member of the inaugural cohort of the 'College of new scholars, artists, and scientists' of the Royal Society of Canada, and academic advisor of the Center for Market Studies and Spatial Economics (Higher School of Economics, Russian Federation).
