BIOGRAPHY:

Martin Bloom received his Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Michigan, after studying philosophy at UCLA and Michigan. He worked in research in gerontology for seven years, and then taught at five schools of social work in the USA for the past 35 years, as well as some short teaching stints abroad. He has published a number of books, including The Paradox of Helping: Introduction to the Philosophy of Scientific Practice. Since retiring, he has continued writing in the areas of primary prevention; single-system evaluation; and ethics, and is an active artist (fine art collage) as well.
