BIOGRAPHY:

Farshid Kazemi is a PhD candidate in the Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies Department at the University of Edinburgh. He holds a BA in English literature from the University of British Columbia. His monograph on Iranian cinema uses Lacanian psychoanalytic theory and feminist film theory to theorize the structure of desire and sexuality in postrevolutionary Iranian cinema.
