Tuve Floden completed his Ph.D. in Islamic Studies at Georgetown University in 2016, with a dissertation entitled "Televangelists, Media Du'a, and Ulama: The Evolution of Religious Authority in Modern Islam." His research interests include Muslim popular preachers, religious authority in Islam, Islamic social movements, and the use of modern media in religion. He also holds a M.A. in Near Eastern Studies from the University of Arizona and a B.A. in French from the University of Michigan.
