BIOGRAPHY:

Antonio Amato is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Centre of Religious Studies (CERES) at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. He completed his PhD at Sapienza University of Rome. His research interests lie in Gandharan art, Buddhist iconography, and Digital Humanities. More specifically, his work examines the dissemination of the Buddhist art in the Gandhara region. Currently, he is working on a concept to digitise Gandharan artefacts with an emphasis on their archaeological, iconographic, and narrative features.
