BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Wladyslaw Roczniak received his Ph.D in history from the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York (CUNY). He currently teaches history and philosophy at Bronx Community College (CUNY). He has published articles on medieval and early modern Polish peasant organizations and charitable institutions. His monograph, A History of Hospitals of Pre-Modern Poland from the Twelfth through the Eighteenth Century, published by the Edwin Mellen Press 2009, is currently the only monograph in the English language that deals exclusively with the topic.
