Betty S. Travitsky is an Independent Scholar living in New York City. She was a founding member of the Society for the Study of Women in the Renaissance (at the Graduate Center, CUNY), of the Attending to Women Conferences at the University of Maryland, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Renaissance & Baroque Studies at the University of Maryland. Her publications include The Paradise of Women (Greenwood, 1981; Columbia, 1989); Subordination and Authorship in Early Modern England (Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, 1999); Female and Male Voices in Early Modern England (Columbia, 2000; with Anne Lake Prescott); facsimile and scholarly edition series (Ashgate Press, 1996-present; with co-general editors Patrick Cullen and Anne Lake Prescott); and the online “Bibliography of English Women Writers, 1500-1640)” at www.itergateway.org/resources/id=2 (Iter and the Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies).
