BIOGRAPHY:

Mark Juergensmeyer is professor of sociology and global studies, and Kundan Kaur Kapany Chair of Global and Sikh Studies, at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is author or editor of over twenty books including Radhasoami Reality: The Logic of a Modern Faith, and co-translator of Songs of the Saints of India. He has been a visiting professor at Punjab University, Chandigarh, and a research scholar at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. His most recent books have been on global religion and the rise of religious violence around the world.
