BIOGRAPHY:

Vittoria Scorpio, PhD, is presently a postdoctoral researcher in fluvial geomorphology at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy), Faculty of Science and Technology. She studied Earth Science at the University of Naples Federico II and then, in 2012, she obtained her Phd in Earth Science at the same University. From 2012 to 2015 she was postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Biosciences and Territory of the University of Molise (Italy). Since 2015, she has been working the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. Her research focuses on rivers evolution and analysis of its controlling factors, human disturbance to rivers, ongoing river dynamics and processes, geomorphological mapping, flood hazards scenarios and geomorphic response of rivers to extreme flood events.
