BIOGRAPHY:

Katherine Johnston is an Assistant Professor of History at Beloit College. She studies the history of the body in the Atlantic world, focusing especially on race, health, and the environment. Her current book project examines the construction of race in plantation societies of the British Greater Caribbean, paying particular attention to eighteenth-century conceptions of environmental health.
