BIOGRAPHY:

Vincent Meyzie is a researcher and a lecturer at the Université Paris Nanterre and a member of the ISP (Institut des Sciences Sociales du Politique). He is working on the social, political, and cultural history of early Modern France, notably on the Royal State and its middle ranks officers and administrators. He is the author of "Les illusions perdues de la magistrature seconde. Les officiers « moyens » de justice en Limousin et en Périgord (vers 1665-vers 1810)," Limoges, Pulim, 2006.
