BIOGRAPHY:
Dr Aidan Hehir is Director of the Security and International Relations Programme at the University of Westminster, and a Reader in International Relations. He gained his PhD in 2005 and has previously worked at the University of Limerick and the University of Sheffield. To date he has published eight books (as sole author and editor), fourteen book chapters and over twenty articles in refereed journals. He has given over fifty papers at academic conferences worldwide and been invited to talk at Chatham House, the Oxford Institute for Ethics, Law and Armed Conflict, the UK Foreign Office, Sandhurst Military Academy and the UK Defence Academy, Shrivingham among others. In 2012 he co-established the "BISA Working Group on Intervention and the Responsibility to Protect" and in 2013 he was part of a team awarded a grant by the ESRC to fund a two-year project on the Responsibility to Protect.
