BIOGRAPHY:
Ellen Chapin is currently a Ph.D. student at Stanford University, studying White nationalist violence. She has published in both academic and policy journals, including Security Studies and PRISM. Ellen also works with West Point's Combating Terrorism Center, researching and publishing on Boko Haram, al-Shabaab, and global jihadist networks. Additionally, she serves as the speechwriter to General Stanley McChrystal (RET). Ellen previously spent two years at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division, where she studied national security law, coordinated national white collar crime takedowns, and assisted with trials against perpetrators of fraud. She received her MA from Yale University's Jackson Institute of Global Affairs, and her BA from the University of Virginia, both with highest honors.
