BIOGRAPHY:

Within the field of international political economy, Jikon Lai’s research interests centre on institutions and institutional contexts of the financial sector and, more generally, on orders of economic governance. Empirically, his work has primarily revolved around East Asia, in which he explores the development of Asian forms of economic governance and regulatory ideas, and its implication for economic, political and social outcomes. He also has emerging expertise in the politics of Islamic finance. Jikon is author of Financial Crisis and Institutional Change in East Asia (Palgrave Macmillan), and has articles published in New Political Economy, Asia Europe Journal, Journal of the Asia-Pacific Economy and the Australian Journal of Public Administration.
