BIOGRAPHY:

Kent Buse, PhD, is Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of UNAIDS, Chief of Strategic Policy Directions at UNAIDS, and Co-founder of Global Health 50/50 (https://globalhealth5050.org/). Kent is a political-economist with a specialization in policy analysis. His textbook, Making Health Policy, is the go-to text for masters students of global health policy at universities around the world. He has published approximately 100 peer reviewed papers and chapters on topics ranging from human rights, public-private partnership, NCDs prevention, sexual health to governance. He taught at Yale University and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and has worked for and/or advised many of the leading global health organizations, including WHO, UNICEF, the World Bank, DFID, GAVI and GAIN, as well as national governments.
