Alis Oancea is Professor of Philosophy of Education and Research Policy at the University of Oxford, where she is also Director of Research at the Department of Education. She specialises in philosophy of research and in studies of research policy and governance, including work on research assessment, research impact and knowledge exchange, research quality, cultural value, evaluation, rankings, and more widely on higher and professional education. Books include 'Assessing Quality in Applied and Practice-based Research' (Routledge), 'Education for All' (Routledge) and 'Introduction to Research Methods in Education' (SAGE).
