BIOGRAPHY:
Wendy Leeds-Hurwitz is Director of the Center for Intercultural Dialogue; 2013-14 Harron Family Endowed Chair at Villanova University; and Professor Emerita at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. She has chaired divisions for both the International Communication Association and the National Communication Association. She has been Senior Fellow at the Collegium de Lyon in France, Fulbright Senior Specialist in Portugal, and served as an expert for UNESCO. Her research specializations include intercultural communication, language and social interaction, ethnography of communication, social construction theory, semiotics, disciplinary history, and interdisciplinarity. She has authored or edited 13 books as well as dozens of shorter publications. Most recently, she co-authored Erving Goffman: A critical introduction to media and communication theory with Yves Winkin (Peter Lang, 2013).
