BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. Elena Nagacevschi holds Bachelor degrees in Music Theory and Piano Performance from the Chisinau College of Music; Master’s degree in Musicology from The Moldavian State Conservatory; and a PhD in Arts from the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. Presently Dr. Nagacevschi is a Senior Research Fellow at the Musicology Sector of the Audiovisual Arts Research Center of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Moldova. Dr. Nagacevschi is a scholar who specializes in studying Moldavian choral music of the 19th-20th centuries. Elena is the author of the monograph, “Choir Director and Composer Mihail Berezovschi,” as well as the number of articles on history of Moldavian Nationalistic music. Besides her scholarly activities, Elena taught Music Theory and Music History classes to the graduate music majors at The Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chisinau, Moldova.
