BIOGRAPHY:

James Borders completed his graduate degrees at the University of Chicago. He is the Glenn McGeoch Collegiate Professor of Music at the University of Michigan, co-editor of the journal Plainsong and Medieval Music, published by Cambridge University Press, and chair of the International Musicological Society study group, 'Cantus planus'. His current scholarship concentrates on plainchant in medieval pontificals and he has spoken and published on bishops’ services for the consecration of virgins and the dedication of churches. He is currently completing a critical edition of chants based on Michel Andrieu's Le Pontifical Romain for A-R Editions.
