PhD Student

Cranfield Forensic Institute

Cranfield University

Vail is currently working towards her doctoral thesis in forensic anthropology and archaeology at Cranfield University. Vail's undergraduate honours degree was at Cardiff University in Biomedical Sciences with Anatomy. Enjoying the osteology aspect of her degree, she decided to develop her understanding of this field by choosing to study an MSc in Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology at Cranfield University. Her MSc thesis examined the comparative anatomy of human and non-human bone within a forensic context. Deciding to stay at Cranfield, she is pursuing her PhD with Cranfield Forensic Institute, combining, Anthropology, Archaeology and Anatomy together. Here, she is investigating an experimental approach towards the relationship between burial posture and decomposition.
