BIOGRAPHY:

Reiko Vermeulen received her PhD in 2005 from University College London with a dissertation on the syntax of external possession in Japanese and Korean. She spent further three years at University College London as a post-doctoral researcher in a project on information structure. Her main research interests include the interaction between syntax and information structure, particularly in Japanese and Korean. Between 2009 and 2012, she was a researcher at Ghent University in a project on comparative syntax and cartography, continuing her research on information structure. Her list of publications includes a co-edited book on Information Structure, published by Mouton de Gruyter, articles in journals such as Linguistic Inquiry, The Linguistic Review and Lingua, as well as a number of chapters in books.
