BIOGRAPHY:
Sara Laviosa is Associate Professor in English Language and Translation Studies at the Dipartimento di Lettere, Lingue Arti. Italianistica e Culture Comparate (LeLiA), Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro, Italy. Her research interests are in Translation Studies, Corpus Linguistics, Educational Linguistics, TESOL, and CLIL. She is co-author of Textual and Contextual Analysis in Empirical Translation Studies (Springer, 2017) and author of Translation and Language Pedagogy (Routledge, 2014). She is Guest Editor of a Special Issue of The Interpreter and Translator Trainer entitled Translation in the Language Classroom, Vol. 8(1). She has contributed chapters to numerous edited volumes and reference works, most notably The Oxford Handbook of Applied Linguistics (2010); Perspectives on Corpus Linguistics (John Benjamins 2011); Corpus Applications in Applied Linguistics (Bloombury 2012); The Routledge Handbook of Translation Studies (2012); Corpus-Based Translation Studies (Bloomsbury 2013); The Routledge Handbook of Translation and Culture (2018); The Routledge Handbook of English Language Studies (2018); Moving Boundaries in Translation Studies (Routledge, 2018); A History of Modern Translation Knowledge: A Dictionary (John Benjamins 2018); The Routledge Encyclopedia of Translation Studies (Forthcoming). She is co-editor, with Maria Gonzàlez-Davies of The Routledge Handbook of Translation and Education (Forthcoming). She is founder and editor of the international journal Translation and Translanguaging in Multilingual Contexts.
