BIOGRAPHY:

Richard Overy is Honorary Research Professor of History at the University of Exeter, UK, after teaching at Cambridge and King's College London. He is the author of more than 25 books on World War II, the European dictatorships and the history of air power, including Why the Allies Won, Russia's War, The Dictators, and most recently The Bombing War: Europe 1939-1945, which was the winner of a Cundill Award for historical literature in 2014. His Battle of Britain was published in a second edition in 2010. Professor Overy is a Fellow of the British Academy, a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a Member of the European Academy for Sciences and Arts. He is currently chair of the Research Board of the RAF Museum, London.
