Eddy Von Mueller
Film and Media Studies
Eddy Von Mueller is a Senior Lecturer in Film and Media Studies at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. His research on the moving image and popular culture examines the history and politics of labor and technology in the media industries, animation aesthetics, and the relationship between live-action and animated filmmaking. In addition to publishing in the popular press as a commentator and critic, he has produced scholarly articles on silent adaptations of Shakespeare during the ‘teens, the samurai films of Akira Kurosawa, film preservation and police procedurals on film and television. He is currently completing his first book, Synthetic Cinema, on the impact of animation on contemporary cinema.
