BIOGRAPHY:

Mary Beltrán is an Associate Professor of Radio-Television-Film and affiliate to the Centers for Gender & Women's Studies, and Mexican American Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research is focused on the construction of race, class, and gender in U.S. television, film, and celebrity culture, particularly in relation to Latina/o and mixed race representation. She is the author of Latina/o Stars in U.S. Eyes and co-editor (with Camilla Fojas) of Mixed Race Hollywood.
