BIOGRAPHY:

Prof. Zhang, Haiwen received her Ph.D. from Peking University in 1995. She is Director-General, senior researcher of China Institute for Marine Affairs (CIMA), Ministry of Natural Resources of China. She is adjunct professor of Wuhan University and Xiamen University. She is the former Vice President of China Society of International Law, former Director-General of the Office of Policies and Regulations and Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation of the State Oceanic Administration (SOA), PRC.. She has studied on the law of the sea for more than 30 years, and has participated in many bilateral and multilateral governmental consultations on the law of the sea. She has published more than 30 books and dozens of academic papers in both Chinese and English.
