BIOGRAPHY:

David Gillott is Associate Research Fellow at Birkbeck, University of London. His monograph Samuel Butler against the Professionals: Rethinking Lamarckism 1860–1900 was published by Legenda in 2015. He is currently working on the first complete scholarly edition of Butler’s notebooks. He is also part of the editorial team of 19: Interdisciplinary Studies in the Long Nineteenth Century, an online, open-access journal published by Birkbeck.
