Meron Medzini, Associate professor (Emeritus), department of Asian Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, was born in Jerusalem in 1932. Following military service in the Israel Defence Forces, he obtained a BA degree from City College of New York, MA from Georgetown University and Ph.D. from Harvard. From 1962-1978 he served as the Director of the Israel Government Press Office in Jerusalem and acted as spokesman for Prime Ministers Levi Eshkol, Golda Meir and Yitzhak Rabin. He began teaching at the Hebrew University as an Adjunct Professor in 1964 and retired from active teaching in 2017. He is the author of nine books and over 100 articles in peer reviewed publications in Israel and abroad.
