Gregory Lynall is Reader in English at the University of Liverpool. His publications include Swift and Science: The Satire, Politics, and Theology of Natural Knowledge, 1690-1730 (2012). His essay ‘Swift’s “Poetical Chymistry”: Alchemy and Allusion in the Verse’ (Review of English Studies, 2012) was winner of the 2013 Richard H. Rodino Prize from the Ehrenpreis Centre for Swift Studies. He is currently writing a cultural history of solar energy.
