BIOGRAPHY:

Polly North is Founding Director of the Great Diary Project at Bishopsgate Institute, London. Her PhD was in life-writing, with a focus on diary-writing. She regularly produces exhibitions of diaries, including those held at the V&A Museum of Childhood; during International Women’s Week (New York); at HBO’s launch of the Anne Lister diaries series; and at Somerset House (in association with King’s College). She has written about the diary-form for Routledge and Oxford University Press and spoken at a range of educational and cultural institutions, including the British Library and the universities of Sussex and Cambridge. Polly has also developed diary-learning programmes for varying audiences; the hope is to widen the project's educational outreach.
