Daniel Dongil Keum joined NYU Stern as a PhD student of Management and Organizations in 2012. His research interests focus on the intersection between cognition, organizational structure, and innovation. He is interested in the fashion and consulting industries, and his recent work examines how organizational hierarchy affects managerial cognition and motivation with implications for innovation performance. He also studies how managers balance the trade-off arising from pursuing multiple goals, such as growth and profitability, risk aversion and shirking, and flexibility and efficiency. Prior to joining Stern, Daniel was a strategic management consultant at McKinsey & Company for four years. He received his BA with high honors from Dartmouth College in economics and mathematics.
