BIOGRAPHY:

Harshad Puranik is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Managerial Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. His research interests include workplace interruptions, affect/emotions in the workplace, and employee interactions, relationships and wellbeing. His research has been published in various top management research publications including Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology and Journal of Organizational Behavior. Currently, Harshad is working with Ph.D. students on several projects that focus on how the interplay between different types of workplace interactions and discrete emotions impact employees' relationships and wellbeing. He is also involved in projects that seek to understand both the posiitve and negative effects of daily workplace interruptions and distractions on employees.
