BIOGRAPHY:

Paul T. McCartney teaches courses in U.S. Foreign Policy, International Relations Theory, and related topics at Towson University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia and B.A. from Rutgers University. He has published various articles and book chapters on U.S. foreign policy as well as the book, "Power and Progress: American Nationalism, the War of 1898, and the Rise of American Imperialism." He previously taught at Rutgers University, the University of Richmond, and Princeton University. His current research interests concern, first, the evolution of rival conceptions of American nationalism and, second, partisan worldviews and American foreign policy.
